About Mark Elzey Woodworking

When Mark Elzey handcrafts his furniture it is easy to see how he incorporates design, function, craft and art to each of his pieces. From his Maloof Style Rocking Chairs to his tables and chairs, each piece has a unique quality making no two pieces he creates exactly alike.

Mark's work has been influenced by the American Shakers, Robert Hensarling, Sam Maloof, and George Nakashima. Although his work is influenced by Master Craftıs people, his designs are unique. His furniture is crafted from woods around the world often combining two species that complement each other to make a "one-of-a-kind" piece. Mark uses exposed joinery and a hand-rubbed mixture of Linseed Oil, Tung Oil, and Urethane while creating his pieces.

Mark has been a professional furniture maker in his Phoenix, Arizona workshop, he has been working with wood for more than 40 years. His work has appeared in many juried fine arts shows throughout the Southwestern United States and his work is sold at several fine furniture galleries in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.
